VP Engineering

You are responsible for developing and maintaining our engineering process and engineering organization. You work to ensure predictable and high quality delivery mechanisms for all product increments and long-term engineering process planning and success.

You oversee all aspects of software engineering, including team organization, leadership, collaboration, process, mentoring and recruiting. We are looking for a great manager and leader who can take on the responsibility of handling the daily challenges of scaling a team that delivers cutting edge products and services to our growing list of global clients.

This position reports directly to the CTO and is an integral member of our leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily management and strategic definition of objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, risk and performance management of engineering team.

Responsible for the integrity of the work created by the team. Strong leadership qualities are critical to leading and mentoring the team in the pursuit of delivering our products and scaling our team and processes.

Identify and infuse organizational metrics to continuously hold your team accountable to agreed upon levels of performance.

Develop and lead our talent and the team at large, across all our engineering offices, providing clear direction and constructive feedback consistently striving for a high quality work product.

Assign areas of ownership; ensure the team has clear priorities and adequate resources.

Serve as ultimate owner of the engineering team and point of contact for key company stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Legal, HR, Recruiting, Finance and Product.

 Competencies and Qualifications:

8+ years of engineering management and leadership with a minimum of 8 direct reports and 42 indirect reports.

Ability to recruit, manage, lead and retain top engineering talent - but also able to part ways with the team members who turn out not to be a fit.

Direct experience constructing and successfully managing an engineering operation that operates in multiple locations.

You managed engineering talent in a technology start-up.

Experience in short release cycles; proficient in an agile/scrum operating environment.

You wrote production code in your professional life before and are still involved in technical topics or discussions and decisions.

Excellent analytical and research capabilities as well as superb verbal and written skills.

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

An understanding of the Financial, Procurement or ERP Industry is ideal.
